Alana placed paw over paw lightly over the swishing grasses of the unknown territory. The distant scent of antelope hung over her nose like thick smoke. She said to herself- Torture. I need to find some food soon. Her stomach growled and she flinched at the thought of her stomach giving her away. The antelope was not alerted. She bunched her muscles behind her, getting ready to pounce. She sprang from the think grasses. Immediatlely the antelope galloped across the opposing river. and she jumped over the river in one light bound. The rumble of the antelope's hooves only made her go faster. Her long, curved claws reached out, almost on thier own, and scraped the antelope, splattering blood along her chestfur. She leaped on its back and its legs snapped, dragging her down with it. "Finally!" She roared in triumph. Ripping the flesh off the antelope, it dropped down her throat and soothed her hunger. She ripped off another piece, then another. She was so ravenously hungry that she ignored the pawsteps around her. A talon grabbed her by the scruff and dragged her off the carcass. She landed on her side in the dry dust of the savanna. She coughed the dirt from her mouth and snapped open her icy-blue eyes. "Well hello there little lioness." A large lion with dark brown mane stood over her. "I see you caught us our lunch." Her growled, his breath smelling of rabbits. "Take it." I spat out. "I've had my fill. Hopefully by the time it's your turn to eat the buzzards will have gotten to it." He chuckled. "Don't try and insult me, I'm trying to hold a decent conversation with a beautiful lioness." I sprang from the ground, spinned him down, and dug my claws into his shoulderfur. "Don't mess with me." I spat at him. Two of the lioness were walking over to us to try and drag me off, but I let go. "Take him. He's all yours" I spun on my dry pads and walked, seething, to the shade of a boabab tree.

I watched the lioness stalk off to the boabab tree. She leaped into it's arms and stared at me with her ice cold blue eyes. If they could speak, I know what they'd say, "Don't mess with me. Don't mess with me"
