Simba has died, and Kovu takes his place as king of the Pridelands. With Kiara at his side, nothing seems to be going wrong.... Until another pride of lions comes, and like Zira before, they want to control the pridelands.
Kovu and Kiara along with their cubs try to protect the Pridelands from going to war against these new lions.
But, things just seem to get worse and worse for the new king and queen... Soon, because of the new Pride, the food source has drastically gone down. Kovu banishes the new pride to the outlands where he grew up.
But the new pride won't give up. Shene, a young female, falls in love with Kovu, and will do anything to get his attention. Kiara, obviously feels very protective of Kovu, and she seems to hate this new lioness more than anyone else.
As time progresses, the two prides come closer and closer to fighting, and eventually it will come to a battle where one side will win, and the other side might loose everything.
