Biography: Being born blind, Jaylia didn’t know much of where she was first born, but all she knew was that she had been birthed in a small zoo-like shelter for animals. It would seem like the perfect place, with plenty of food and great care and service, but it was not the easy life for one with a disability like, Jaylia. She was treated like scum, always separated from her parents who too, hated her. She was kept in a small cage until she was a bit larger and that was when she was put into the cage with the other lions, yet she was chained. Jaylia got much less food than the rest and less service than even the oldest of lions. She is usually teased no matter what in anyway possible. In her days in the cage, Jaylia developed a sort of ferocious aura around humans. She would always growl and hiss anytime she could sense their presence or smell their scent. She would even attack if she was in such a bad mood.
But that wasn’t the least of it. She was soon sent to a special training center that seemed to be every lion’s worst nightmare. Each and everyday was a struggle to survive. Jaylia was trapped in a steal box that only had three small air holes that rarely let in any cold air. She could remember seeing lions fall to their doom from suffocation or heat stroke. The humans there would only feed each lion twice a day with small pieces of meat. Half of the whole day, each lion would be taken out by a chain leash tied around their neck, ankles and around the waist. It was the most uncomfortable torture, but that was still not the least of it. They would hook each of the strongest lions to a large pole and would whip them along the flank and shoulders to move forward. The pole would turn as each lion struggled to trudge on. Jaylia never knew the complete reason for this except that it seemed to collect gas. She could always smell it around the contraption and would often get soaked with it from time to time.
It wasn’t long until Jaylia was soon sent deep into Africa to a different facility that was rumored to be much more devastating and challenging. But her luck seemed to be shining- or not, as the helicopter she was held in spiraled out of control, soon diving straight into the deep depths of Africa. Jaylia herself, was injured yet she seemed to do better than the pilot and the helicopter. It was a shock to her to find herself in Africa. She had been born far from here and the savannah’s were strange to her paws.
Though the wild was better than being kept in a small cage, it still wasn’t the good life for a blind lion. It took a long while before Jaylia got used to the new sounds, feelings, vibrations and especially the animals. Each and every scavenger seemed to be attracted to her pouring blood and it was a hard fight for survival as she fought like she never fought before. Luckily, She did survive yet with many different wounds and scratches of all sizes.
But as life continued, Jaylia got into the swing of everything, soon figuring out the pride system yet she would definitely stay a loner. She knew the lions here were vicious and stronger than herself and fighting and scavenging for food was the hardest challenge. More than five times did she feel like she would die of starvation, yet her luck seemed to always shine upon her. Now Jaylia lives comfortably, still struggling to survive and live as the loner she is.
