I think I might leave this site....
As much as I love Lion King, it just doesn't seem to have much structure. No offense to anybody in particular, please. I'm not insulting/assaulting anyone or making any specific implications. All I'm saying is I like my rp sites to uphold fairness and equality while allowing the freedom of logical creation. Meaning, the staff should set and maintain logical rules that are neither too strict nor too lenient. They should also be upheld as stated, meaning the staff should take their rules very seriously and be sure they are followed by all members, other staff included. The rules themselves should make sure the role-play experience felt by all is fair, fun and happy, and should not be implimented solely because 'another site had the same/similar rues' or 'just because the admin felt like it'. They should all be fair, easy, and relatively harmless requests.
Forums should also be organized and avoid confusion. Confusing forums that force people to do things a particular way or in a particular manner can be intimidating and confusing for people like me who have been rping for over a decade and are pretty set in their ways.
Not that ALL of these are not met here on Dilemna, many of them are well taken care of. But the few most important ones for me I feel have been jeopardized. Again, I am not attacking anyone specifically. Nothing has to be changed or fixed or anything. This is solely based on my personal preferences and experiences with role-playing forums. But I feel that the acceptance of a lion character who is taller than me, can run faster than an automobile, and can move 'in the blink of an eye' despite being nearly half a ton in weight is just a little too much for me. Or perhaps it's a little too little. The rules state that Mary sues are not allowed unless played by someone who can write a lot but, upon thinking about it, that doesn't seem fair at all to me. Just because someone can write three pages worth of post does not mean they can't powerplay for those three pages.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't feel protected here, I don't feel like I can have a fun and safe rping environment here with lions who are, again, taller than I am in real life. Heck, the same height as my brother is in real life... at the shoulder. And can still move quickly and swiftly and still have a pretty much flawless personality. Once again, that's fine for people who can tolerate and enjoy that sort of thing, but I'm just not one of them. I value unique, interesting characters and, while I don't expect everyone to have one, I'd rather play someplace where they're at least logically planned and sized. Especially a Lion King rp. Hyenas are my favorite animals and my number one character species choice and, while I expect them to be oppressed and attacked and what have you on a site all about lions, I just wouldn't feel safe playing them someplace where characters are allowed to be supernaturally sized.
Now, maybe I'm reading into this incorrectly, maybe I'm not explaining my thoughts right (which is more than highly likely), which is why I'm only THINKING about leaving. I figure I should get some feedback before I just run around deleting things, since I really really REALLY do like the Lion King... But I like things to be logical as well, and I'm just missing that here.

I'll adjust him if you like. Also most car's usually have a maximum MPH around 160 maybe a little lower. Liger's are also naturally taller then most. The speed thing was a mix up on my part and one, Most lion's can sprint at around 40 MPH, in short bursts. I was basing the height in comparison to the guy in the picture, I'm also assuming he most be pretty tall or simply unnaturally brave to work with something so big. I can also explain his size if you wish, Also may I ask what in The Lion King IS logical?   |

Nobody can run faster than an automobile as far as I can remember... did I miss something?
And as for Mary-Sues, I don't judge on how long the posts are. I'm actually an expeirienced writer so I could actually care less about length and more about the actual writing. Of course I could be talking total gibberish right now since I didn't understand D=

Okay, I think it's your not explaining your thoughts correctly thats getting here. At this point I don't see anything about your arguement that's really solidly there so I'm really sure I misread something ._.

Fahari- I'm aware of liger's size and what not, but you are completely ignoring everything else that makes a liger a liger. Ignoring the gigantism that makes them so large. It's a genetic mutation, a deformity that weakens their bones and joints and makes them slow, lumbering creatures. Speed and high impact activities are bad for them, not easy for them. They're not just really big lions, they're mutants with physical problems and ailments up the wazoo and that's what I love about them. I think they're beautiful animals...
But that's not the point. Your character is not my problem (even though there's no way he's 5 ft 6. Consider that that girl is probably about 5 ft 8 and that, even sitting down, his shoulder is at least a foot or two below the top of her head). What bothers me is the staff who allowed it without questioning if it's really possible for a big cat to be taller than a human. Not only taller but half a foot taller, taller than me anyway. It tells me that they pretty much allow anything without pausing to think about it first, about how fair it would be to normal members to be up against a giant cat who, despite being absolutely massive can still move as swift as anything half his size. It's just not logical and I fear that a site run by people who either don't notice or don't care will soon be full of g-modding noobs powerplaying everywhere with their gigantic ligers.
Again, I put emphasis on the fact that I'm not attacking anyone. Really. It's not my site so I'm not expecting it to bend over backwards just for someone as meaningless as me. Have fun however it is you guys want to have fun. I'm just not the same way. I don't enjoy things that are illogically perfect. I have a thing for things to be reasonable, to be based on facts and observations and not simply 'assumed' without a second glance or thought. That's just the way I am. I'm a dork, I took college level Physics so I know how much power it would take to move a cat of that size 55mph and I know that it's impossible. But that's just me. I don't expect anyone else to be like me so I figure i might as well just go...
Salki- Fahari's character, as stated in the bio that you accepted, can run 55 mph, which is faster than cars are allowed to go on many of the state roads around here.
A line for your thread on Mary sues:
People who have mary sues MUST include an extra long and high quality roleplay example in their bio. The chance of accepting is much lower.
'People who have mary sues' means that you will allow people to have them. You specifically say that, in order to have them, they must have an extra long sample post. I'm sorry if that's not what you meant but that definitely tells me that you're looking for good rpers who can powerplay really well. o.O
Back to Fahari, their liger, as stated a thousand times already, is taller than I am (ME as in ME the human sitting here at the computer). If i were to stand next to him in real life, while he's standing in a relaxed position, his SHOULDER (picture this in your head while I say this), His shoulder would be six inches above my head. That is a supernaturally sized animal.
Get a tape measure and see for yourself just how tall 5 ft 6 in really is. Then imagine an animal that large moving as swift as a cheetah and faster than a greyhound. That's nearly half a ton of animal folks. If you give me five minutes, I can fill out all the formulas and show you mathematically that it would take a ridiculous amount of force to move an animals of that size that fast. That is probably the most supernatural part of all of this...

My sense of proportions is horrible. My report came out yesteday: A A D A A A
D for Math. A simple problem takes me minutes and a hard one hours.
As for Mary Sues, I never said the ROLEPLAY itself had to be longer, only the example so I know that they're willing to write more to gain what I really don't want more of. However, I've gone on alot of RP forums and noticed that people can find it fun to Roleplay and Roleplay with Mary Sues ><;;
In a way, the longer is just a filter. It's the high quality that I had in heart DX

And, like I said, there's nothing wrong with that. Mary sues are fine for some people and fun for many. Just not me. So, I'll just get out of here instead. You guys can enjoy your Mary sues and I can be happy without them. There's nothing wrong with that. :3
It just makes me sad because I love Lion King. But I find that I just can't function outside of the proper environment. *shrugs* Sorry everyone.
I think I'll leave my account up and I won't delete anything, in case I change my mind and come back but I'd be surprised if I did.

One is too many, if you ask me. If you allow one, fairness says you must allow others. If you don't, well... well, obviously, that'd be unfair to the other players trying to play their Mary sues. Plus, again meaning absolutely zero offense to you Salki, but you needed me to point all of this stuff out. You accepted the liger without even knowing about the species. Heck, your biography form doesn't even require that you state the species. I didn't even know that he was a liger until something was said.
The whole system just seems a bit disorganized. I'm confident it'll clear up as you get more members and then maybe I'll come back. Like I said, I'm not going to delete anything. But if you're going to be accepting all sorts of creatures without thought or without even knowing what it is you're allowing... well, forgive me for being a little put off by that.
I'm sorry. Please don't feel bad. I'm a finicky person, I'm afraid, which is why I'd rather simply get out of your hair as opposed to anything being changed just because I'm picky and a total nerd face. :B
